The day started thousands of miles away from Vancouver at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Everywhere I turn the Canadian flag is on display. I can tell this is going to be a great experience. 2 beer, fresh baked cookies, ice cream, and a crappy Matt Damon movie later we’re in Vancouver.
Having lived in Vancouver I’m already used to its beauty, what’s new is the amazing spirit in everyone. British Columbia is doing a great job making everyone feel welcome. Last night the pub we were at bought us a few drinks too! Maybe that was because we were hanging out with City and Colour. Doesn’t matter I welcomed the move.
The Rural Alberta Advantage were awesome last night as they continue their tour across Canada. City and Colour were on fire. They brought out a couple new tunes too. The new album set for a possible fall release is going to be huge.
The true highlight of the night came from the medal ceremony. Alexandre Bilodeau Gold medal winner in men’s moguls was presented his hardware at a ceremony held in BC Place. This presentation was shown on TV in the pub where we were hanging out. Once the Canadian Anthem started, the entire pub stood up and began to sing. Truly amazing!
